Benefits Of Having An Affiliate Marketing Strategy

Written by admin on May 20, 2010 – 2:01 PM -

Most people assume that anybody can do affiliate marketing because it is very simple. This cannot be further from the truth. It involves much more than building a few links or banners on the internet and watching the money flow to one’s bank account. Affiliate marketing requires strategizing, planning, commitment and passion. There are more hurdles to jump over even after the link has generated enough traffic. Before online marketers truly realize any profits from their online businesses, they have to create a business plan just as if they were starting an ordinary business. Before sending out advertising emails to friends and relatives, online marketers should already have their plan of action in place.

Finding out about a targeted audience is very important for marketers before they decide to start an affiliate marketing job. It is important to understand the market in order to know what things they are more likely drawn towards and what would keep them at bay. Therefore, picking an audience that marketers can write interesting content about is very important. Marketers should also consider the product they intend to market before they embark on the task. The product should have very good conversion rates and should also have good reviews on the internet so that other people can be attracted to it.

Marketers should also think about the way they are going to promote the product. Some marketers create long lists of leads that they can contact after they have collected while others prefer to use direct promotion. Marketers should have thought of many ways that they can use to ensure that their websites have enough traffic to make them money. Some marketers prefer using techniques that they pay for because they believe they are taken more seriously if they pay to get people to their sites. Some marketers do not consider this and they prefer to do it the cheaper way and use free techniques. Before making the decision, marketers should put into consideration their targeted audience, their product and their business.

Work is made much simpler for marketers by business plans because they know what they are doing and what they should be doing afterwards. Marketers should treat online marketing just like any other business and come up with a plan for that business to ensure that it succeeds and therefore generates income for the marketer.

3 Common Affiliate Marketing Mistakes To Avoid

Written by admin on April 29, 2010 – 6:41 AM -

You have probably heard that affiliate marketing is one of the most effective and powerful things you can do to earn money online. Using this program everyone can have an opportunity to earn money on the internet. many people have found that these affiliate marketing programs are very easy to join, put in practice and will pay a commission on a regular basis.

But, along with that potential success, there can be many problems in the affiliate marketing business, as with any business. And by committing a few of the most common mistakes it can cost marketers a huge amount of their profits they may be making everyday. So, as a marketer, you want to try to avoid as many of these as you can to not have regrets in the end.

Mistake #1: Picking the wrong affiliate.

Most people want to start to earn from affiliate marketing as quick as they can. As they rush out and try to get in one program, they tend to choose a bandwagon product. This is that supposed “hot” product. They will pick the product that everyone is after without thinking about whether the product will appeal to them. Of course, this is not a wise move.

Rather than going along with the crowd, try to find a product that you may have an interest in. If you want to make sure you succeed, you want to make sure you set up a plan and figure out the right approach for you.

Try to choose a product that appeals to you. Then do some proper research about the product to see if there is a demand. Promoting the product you have a true interest in makes it a lot easier for you than promoting something because it will earn you the most money.

Mistake #2: Joining too many affiliate programs.

Once you find out just how easy it is to join affiliate programs, you might feel that you can join multiple affiliate programs to try and maximize the money you might be making. And why not, you might think there is nothing wrong and you have nothing to lose by joining a lot of affiliate programs.

And you are right, that can be a great way to have multiple sources of income. But, having all of those programs and trying to promote them all will not allow you to concentrate on each one of them.

And what will happen? You will see that the maximum potential of your affiliate program will not be achieved and that income you generate won’t be as large as you might have anticipated it would be. Your best chance would be to join one program that will pay at least a 40% commission. Take that program and work it with a lot of enthusiasm. Once you can see that it is making a decent profit for you, then you can think about taking on another affiliate program.

The plan should be to do it slowly but thoroughly. No reason to rush things as you go along, especially with affiliate marketing. As you can see the way things are going, the future looks pretty bright for affiliate marketing and it appears like it will be around for a while.

Mistake #3: Not buying the product or using the service.

If you are an affiliate, your main job is to effectively and convincingly promote that product or service and find those customers. For you to make that happen it would be a major plus if you could convince the customers about that product or servixce. So, it would be really hard to do if you yourself have not actually tried them. Therefore you will have a difficult time if you have not tried these things out. You will not be able to promote and recommend them convincingly. Then it will be hard to create that desire in your customers to get them interested in what you are offering.

Give the product or service a try before you sign up for it as an affiliate to see if it is really what they say it is. Then you will be able to speak first hand and give an honest testament about the advantages and disadvantages about the particulars of the product or service. Your customers will feel better about your sincerity and truthfulness and this may get them to want to try it out for themselves.

A lot of affiliate marketers make these mistakes and will pay dearly for their actions. If you don’t want to fall into the same situation they find themselves in, do whatever you can to avoid smiliar mistakes.

Taking the time is very important. Take time to analyze just what your marketing plan will be and check to see if you are on the right track. If you do things the right way, you will see that you will be able to maximize your affiliate marketing program and it could increase your profits.

Avoid The Scams In Affiliate Marketing

Written by admin on March 27, 2010 – 7:31 AM -

There is a lot of people getting upset and frustrated with their jobs today. With the continual low paying jobs and the feeling that you are not being treated very well has us thinking about working for our own businesses. However, when we have a thought about the cost and risk that are associated with starting a business most of us give up. One way that you might be able to overcome these risk is by trying affiliate marketing. Usually there is very little cost and you are paid based on your performance.

But even going this route you must be careful. The number of con artists and scammers has only increased as more people come online and they are more than happy to take your money. And affiliate marketing is no different. Almost everyday there are stories of people being taken in by promises of big money with relatively little work. Hopefully this article can teach you some of the signs to look for and how to spot a scam.

When you sign up for an affiliate marketing program, you will either be selling a product or a service. Most products will have a choice and range to sell. This will be totally up to you as to how you will do this. You might also sell a service. An example of the types of services you might be selling include web page designs as well as increasing sells and internet traffic offered by affiliate marketing programs.

Have you ever seen those ads on the internet promising huge payments? You know the kind, like “Earn $1000 a day” or “sign up for our program and become a millionaire.” A closer look at these ads will reveal that they are actually not selling anything. Most companies that would advertise that they are selling an opportunity to make money is usually a scam. Now there are a few legitimate affiliate marketing companies that will use these attention grabbing headlines. But, when you read through the ad and information you will more than likely discover a detailed description of what the company sells. They should also have a disclaimer and terms and conditions listed.

If you find those companies offering the opportunity to make money they are more likely to be a pyramid scheme. The real people paying money into these schemes are probably the ones that are actually signing up. There is really no money being created, just money being passed from person to person. These are some of the biggest scams and will cause you to part with your investment and they are also illegal and you could face prosecution.

Another red flag will be to watch out for no free participation. If you are having to pay to join you may have stumbled upon a scam or what is known as a multi-level marketing program (MLM). MLM programs are legal and some people actually make a good living out of them. but watch out because if you are not successful you will be buying a bunch of products that you are not able to sell.

A true affiliate program is free, that is why they are so attractive. There are no costs and they should be risk free for you to join. If you find an affiliate marketing program that demands money it is probably not an affiliate program. You would do well to step back and take a look at why they are misrepresenting themselves this way if they are legitimate.

We all would like to be our own boss. It is a dream to be able to take control of our lives and careers. There is a big attraction to answering only to yourself combined with being able to set your own hours. That is what draws a lot of people to affiliate marketing. It can be an excellent opportunity for those self motivated and creative people. There are lots of great programs out there that you can join. But as with every great program there will be a few less desirable, even fraudulent ones. There are plenty of con artists operating out there and even affiliate marketing is not immune.

So, before you go and join that great company be sure to check and see just what the company is all about. What are they selling. If it is not goods or services then a closer inspection might be warranted. They might be a pyramid scheme. And if they are requiring you to come up with your own money to get started they could be considered more like a multi-level marketing program. If you want to experience the good side of affiliate marketing be sure to check out the opportunity and above all, do your home work.

3 Survival Tactics For Affiliate Marketers

Written by admin on February 7, 2010 – 4:39 PM -

As an affiliate marketer you are always looking for that one niche market that could provide ultimate riches. It is like searching for that eternal bottle of youth. You know it might be out there you just haven’t looked long and hard enough. But as you find out, there is a lot more hard work and dedication that is involved than you may want to believe. But time and again it has been shown that you must stick to good marketing tactics that have proven to be successful over the years. These tactics have been shown to have worked with online marketing and are continuing to work in the online affiliate marketing world. These three tips might allow you to increase your sales and ultimately survive in affiliate marketing online.

1. Make sure you are using unique web pages to promote each separate product that you are marketing. You can’t expect to crowd everything together on one site to save some money on webhosting. Having a site dedicated to each product will make a big difference.

When you include a product review on the website visitors will be able to understand what the product might be able to do for them if they purchase it. And having some testimonials wouldn’t hurt either but make sure these are actual people who have used the product especially with the new FTC rules in place. After all everyone will not get the same results. And make sure you have the permission of the individuals before you put their name and photos on your site of that particular product.

You may also want to write articles describing how the product can be used and use these also on the pages on your website. Make sure the pages are attractive and compelling and be sure to include a call to action. Try to make the headlines stand out and compel the reader to want to read more of the article so much so that they may want to contact you. Give them bullet points about a particular selling points. Then your readers will want to read on and want to find out more information.

2. A good selling point is to offer a free report. Make it stand out on your page with your opt-in box at the top of the page so that they can’t miss it. That way you can get them on your list, very important to any marketer, and get them in your autoresponder series when they sign up. Recent sales studies have shown it can take up to the seventh contact with a subscriber before they will buy from you.

There are usually only two things that can possibly happen with that web page; either they buy from you or they click off of the page. With that autoresponder series you will be constantly reminding them of you and the product. And it will not seem like spam because they did sign up in your opt-in box. Your ultimate goal is the sale and if they are receiving useful and interesting information you may have developed a loyal customer who may buy more from you. What would you want more a customer who has bought and may might buy more from you or a new customer who you have to prove yourself to? And when you are sending information wanting them to purchase your particular product try to make the content interesting but also directed toward the product and not a sales pitch.

Give them good points about how that product will make their life better or make a process easier and more enjoyable with this product. Try to grab their attention with the subject line in the emails. Make sure that free report has some really good content as well showing how they are missing out on not having the product and services.

3. Make sure you are getting traffic directed at the particular niche you are trying to attract. If the information you are trying to send to golfers is being directed at tennis enthusiast, you will more than likely be losing those viewers to your website. Try writing articles for publication in e-zines and e-reports. You should be able to find publications that cater to your target niche so you can direct your articles toward them and that might grab their interest.

If you can try to to write a minimum of two articles per week, with at least 3-600 words in length. If you are continuously writing and maintaining these articles you might be able to generate as many as 100 targeted readers to your site. If you can remember that only 1 in 100 people are likely to buy your product or service. Just think then if you can get 1,000 targeted visitors to your site you might make ten sales on average.

These particular tactics may not sound to difficult to do, when you think about it. But make sure they are proceeded by a little time and a sound action plan on your part. Try using these tips for several affiliate marketing programs. You may end up having yourself a decent source of income and deciding you want to stay in this business. Most marketers are not able to do this. The work is hard but it can be done and think of the possible huge paychecks you might be generating.
