How To Get Your Subscribers To Take Action On Your Emails

Written by admin on January 7, 2011 – 6:00 AM -

Do you know what the number one mistake Internet marketers make when they email their subscribers? They forget to have a call to action.  Yes, even your email should have a call to action, either a call to come contribute to an ongoing discussion at your blog, or a call to join your membership program, or a call to buy your information product. Ask something of your subscribers. You are giving them valuable and free information via their subscription, it is expected and perfectly fine to ask for the sale.

Many Internet marketers do not like selling, they feel bashful asking their subscribers to spend money, but after months of building trust, you must ask them to do something. Otherwise what is the point. Very few people are going to buy your information, join your membership, or participate with you in discussions if you do not straight out ask them to. Of course, a certain percentage will, they are joiners and they’re probably already out there cheerleading for your cause, but the others, they need you to ask.

Remember your subscribers have opted in, asked for you to send them information. So if you offer value, provide instructions, and tell them to sign up, or join, many will. You should not beg them, but you should ask in a creative non threatening way by building excitement for the reader. Put yourself in their place: “Wow, this is a great deal I’m in” is a great way to pull members further into your funnel with a slight push, but requires no begging to accomplish.

If you are excited about your offerings, and you know the value, that will shine through in the words that you use to attract buyers. Be sure of yourself, know your value, and give your subscribers fast and easy purchasing power with buttons right in your email instructing them to click here to thrilled now.

If you are interested in learning more about your mailing list and how you can get more people to opt-in to your list be sure to pick my no cost report Mailing List Builder and see how it can help.

Three Tips To Get Your Subscribers To Open Your Email

Written by admin on January 5, 2011 – 5:31 AM -

One of the more frustrating issues Internet marketers have is after building up a huge email list of targeted subscribers, they still aren’t even opening their emails, much less reading what you are sending them. As an Internet marketer you work hard on creating useful information for your subscribers so naturally you get frustrated if no one is even reading them. How can you make this situation better?

1. Don’t over sell — If every last email you send to your subscribers is selling something they will be trained to know that and if they’re not in a buying mood they’ll just click “delete” or worse “spam” after weeks of over selling.  I’m not saying don’t sell, I’m saying, pull them into your funnel don’t flood them out.

2. Pique curiosity — Creative and personalized subject lines can go a long way to getting people to at least take a look at your email. But be careful, do not lie in your subject line, nothing can make a subscriber madder than opening what promises to be an interesting email only to find yet another sales pitch. However, be creative and pique the subscribers’ curiosity but do it in an honest way so that you build trust.

3. It’s all in the timing — If you are not sending your emails at the right time of day then they can become hidden with all the other email that your subscribers receive each day. People get overwhelmed with the sheer volume of email, they will quickly scan subject lines, if nothing is interesting, they click away. Avoid this problem by sending your emails at the right time.

If you know your niche and you should, you should also find a way to find out the best time for them to read your emails. You can try different times of the day and check your metrics to find out the best times for your subscribers but depending upon your niche you can also make some educated guesses on when they might be at their computer reading email — THAT is the time you want to send it.

What Changes Would You Like To See

Written by admin on December 28, 2010 – 8:45 PM -

I was reading a blog post from a very good friend I like to follow. And he reminded me of something that I needed to do. It seems he was reviewing what has been working for him this last year. That is something we all as internet marketers no matter the niche should be doing.

He said ” Like the caterpillar that becomes a butterfly things constantly change online.”

That is such a profound but true statement. Sorry Mike, not trying to steal your thunder  but your post really hit home. I wonder how many of us actually look back to see what worked and what didn’t. And then determine what we need to do to make things better.

Maybe it means we need to drop something we thought was a good idea. And go back to the drawing board to come up with new ideas. And the things that did work, why did it work and how can we duplicate that success.

Mike, that’s Mike Paetzold, has said he has created a huge mind map to see what direction he will be following this next year. Could be something to consider doing  or something similar.

But what I really like about his post was that in all of his planning he left out one important piece. The one part of his and our business, especially mine, that is so vital to all of our success. YOU!

So, again taking a line from his post, as I move forward this next year what changes would you like to see made here.

I would appreciate hearing what you have to say so leave a comment below. Maybe we can all make 2011 a better year.

4 Tips To Generate Free Web Traffic

Written by admin on April 10, 2010 – 2:23 PM -

It makes no difference whether you are running a business blog or a Clickbank storefront – with either the one thing that all internet marketers need is more internet traffic. For getting more visitors to your website there are a few different options you could use. There are a few of those methods that cost money – commonly called ‘paid web traffic’. However, a number of us are more into getting something for nothing.

Here are a few ways that you might be able to generate some free web traffic.

1. Exchange Content
This can be really effective if you happen to have a blog. When you say you are exchanging content, it means that you are providing content, usually written, for someone’s website and they are doing the same for yours. No big deal here but you are both agreeing that you will post a backlink to each other’s sites.

Exchanging content is easy – you need to contact the site owner and let them know you have a similar site and you would like to exchange some content. Then you will write a good quality article and send it off. It should not take you much time. They will do the same and send it to you. Then you both just need to post each others content onto your respective sites.

2. Exchange Banners
Lots of people are under the impression that banner advertising is dead – due to there being so many other ways that are being used and invented as of late. However, they are still a really good way to attract web traffic. And because it is free it is even better. Start by looking for some websites that might be similar to yours and make contact with the owners and see if you might be able to exchange banners with them.

If they are agreeable you then could make up a banner image that will draw attention and exchange it with them. Make sure you are providing them with the exact URL you want the banner to be linked with. Then you can find a location on your website to show their banner as well.

3. Search Engine Submission
There are a lot of internet users that start their sessions by checking out search engines. So, if you are submitting your site to search engines, you can get a lot more internet traffic. Usually it is free and that will make a big difference. As an example, you are able to submit your website to Google for no charge at all.

4. Directory Submissions
Using web directories is also good, because like search engines they can account for quite a bit of web traffic. Of course they might not be as effective, but you will still get a lot of traffic by submitting to internet directories. There are a lot of free ones and some can be submitted to all at one time.

You should always be trying to get more traffic to your website. Very few can say that they have enough. If you can use as many free methods as you can, it can save you money and you might be able to learn some things to share with others.
